This past June, Christopher and the Bug had the honour of being an Official Selection at the 2025 annual Oakville Film Festival—and we couldn’t have been more thrilled to be part of the lineup!

Although co-director and writer Vanessa Esteves wasn’t able to attend in person, the film was well represented at the screening by co-director Kevin Micallef, who handled the post-screening Q&A with warmth, humour, and insight. Kevin was joined by an incredible crew of creatives who helped bring the film to life: producer Lydia Ferreira, supervising technical director Scott Williamson, and animator Sam Van Rootselaar.

It was a joy to share our little grouchy owl’s story with Oakville’s vibrant film-loving community and to connect with so many passionate filmmakers and fans.
